Indonesia has the highest rates of shark catch in the world, threatening a population that has already decreased by 70 percent over the last 50 years. Project Hiu provides an alternative livelihood for the shark fishermen of Lombok by providing a less dangerous, more reliable, and higher source of income through ecotourism and shark research.
